Jamie O’Hara struck down by food poisoning from unlikely source in holiday ‘stinker’
Jamie O’Hara flew to Portugal for the sun, sea and sand – but he has been struck down by food poisoning.
The talkSPORT presenter has taken a leaf out the book of his beloved Tottenham Hotspur of last season and had an ‘absolute stinker’ while in the Algarve coastal city of Albufeira.

Taking to his Instagram story on Wednesday night, O’Hara posted an image from hospital with a drip attached to his right arm.
“Got food poisoning from cheese on toast in Albufeira,” the former Spurs midfielder explained in his caption.
Many talkSPORT fans will be wondering if something as simple as cheese on toast can in fact have such a crippling effect.
Shebahn Aherne and Gabby Agbonlahor in particular were confused with O’Hara and his new-found nemesis.
Had him on toast
“Is that possible?” Agbonlahor asked on Breakfast, to which Aherne replied: “I don’t think it is possible.
“I think he’s had something dodgy before the cheese on toast.”
Agbonlahor then joked: “He took his own cheese over to Portugal with him, it’s gone off and he’s eaten it, and got food poisoning?
In an attempt to figure out his illness, Aherne suggested it could be a case of listeriosis which, as per the NHS, can cause you to feel sick if you’ve eaten soft, mould-ripened cheeses like camembert and brie.
O’Hara then sent a video into the show and offered an update on his fitness, saying: “Boys, it’s not good, I’m in a bad place.
“I can’t come on, I am struggling. I’m out in Portugal, I’ve got food poisoning from cheese on toast.

“You’ll love this one as well, the restaurant that I got it from, do you know what it’s called? Fat Cats… Fat, Cats! Honestly, absolute stinker. I’m dying. Sums me up, doesn’t it?”
Having seen how pale he looked, Aherne explained: “He is whiter than a ghost by the way!”
“He doesn’t look well, does he?” a sympathetic Agbonlahor added. “I want to apologise for laughing at you Jamie.”
Cundy cure
O’Hara is best-known for his duties on The Sports Bar alongside chief wind-up merchant and co-host Jason Cundy.
The duo will return to your radios and screens for the new Premier League season very soon.
However, Cundy has been called to reunite with his stricken friend a little earlier for a special edition of his famous joke.

Agbonlahor asked: “Do you know what he might need while he’s sitting there in hospital?
“Jason Cundy, “Has anyone seen cheese?!’ That’ll cheer him up!”
We all wish O’Hara a speedy recovery and a good rest of his holiday, before welcoming him back to the studio for some Sports Bar fun!
