Jake Paul reveals the only heavyweight boxer he is ready to fight

Months after losing to Anthony Joshua in Dec. 2025, Jake Paul has now opened up about his next possible fight. Suffering a broken jaw at the hands of Joshua (quite literally), Paul underwent two jaw surgeries and was even indefinitely suspended from boxing.

Due to the severity of the injuries, Paul may not be back in action until early 2027. However, once he comes back, “The Problem Child” has expressed his desire to fight Francis Ngannou. Despite belonging to the cruiserweight class himself, Paul faced heavyweight Joshua last year. Although he lost, he is still willing to run it back, potentially against Ngannou.

“Yeah, it’s a good question and not super thinking about the next opponent necessarily and more thinking about what the overall goal is, and I think that is still to make the path to world champion and to fight people at my weight class. The one outlier is Francis Ngannou, but I’m definitely a cruiserweight and learned that against Anthony Joshua,” Paul said while speaking to Chris Mannix during an interview.

Ngannou made a name for himself in UFC from 2015 to 2022, where he won the UFC Heavyweight Championship. However, he relinquished it after not coming to terms with Dana White on a new contract. Following this, he joined PFL, where he became the inaugural PFL Super Fights Heavyweight Champion. Ngannou soon transitioned into boxing, where he fought Tyson Fury in his debut in 2023 and Anthony Joshua in 2024. Ngannou is set to make his MMA comeback next month against Philipe Lins under Jake Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions.
