The Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) entered the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season with a heavily revamped squad, eager to make a deep playoff run after a high-stakes mega auction. Despite boasting an explosive mix of international power-hitters and skilled domestic all-rounders, they endured a highly inconsistent campaign, ultimately failing to finish in the top four. In a season defined by fine margins, there were a few players who could have been used far more effectively.

Here are three players underutilised by LSG:

3. Arjun Tendulkar

The young all-rounder Arjun Tendulkar was traded by Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) ahead of IPL 2026 from Mumbai Indians (MI). He is primarily a left-arm pace who can bat well in the lower-order.

But the use of Impact sub meant that his services were not needed for the struggling LSG unit this season. After getting eliminated from the competition, they could have given him more chances at the end of the season. He only played one match for them, picking up a solitary wicket.

2. Mohsin Khan

Another left-arm pacer, Mohsin Khan played for LSG in IPL 2026. Mohsin just played seven matches for them in IPL 2026, picking up 11 wickets with a strike rate of 15.27.

He also picked up his maiden five-wicket haul in IPL when he registered figured of 5 for 23 against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Fitness remains a concern for him, but Mohsin was a great variety to have in the bowling line-up.

1. Mukul Choudhary

Mukul Choudhary had a performance for the ages against KKR, when he single handedly took LSG over the line. Needing 54 in the last 24 balls, Mukul smashed a scintillating 54 off 27 balls to register a victory.

He played 10 matches for them, scoring 170 runs with a strike rate of 141.67. He was mostly used as a finisher, but LSG could have backed him more.
