The three-match ODI series between India and South Africa gets underway on Sunday, November 30, at the JSCA International Stadium Complex. This is going to be an important series, especially for the Men in Blue, as they have been facing severe criticism following their whitewash in the preceding Test series against the Proteas.

India did not have a great time in the three-match ODI series against Australia last month, as they lost 1-2. However, the reigning Champions Trophy holders will want to give a strong account of themselves when they take on Temba Bavuma and Co. over the next few days.

In a video uploaded to Instagram by Star Sports, former South African pacer Dale Steyn backed his compatriots to win the ODI series 2-1. On the other hand, ex-Indian wicketkeeper-batter Parthiv Patel predicted that India would whitewash the Proteas 3-0.

India won the last ODI series 2-1 against South Africa in December 2023. The three matches were played in Johannesburg, Gqeberha, and Paarl.

Dale Steyn and Parthiv Patel pick the leading run-scorer and the highest wicket-taker for IND vs SA 2025 ODIs

Both Steyn and Patel went on to name the leading run-getter and highest wicket-taker in the ODI series. They unanimously picked Kuldeep Yadav to finish with the most number of scalps. The left-arm wrist spinner has 27 wickets from 13 ODIs against the Proteas, which is a fantastic record.

Meanwhile, Steyn picked Quinton de Kock to finish as the highest run-getter. The latter loves playing against India and has scored 1077 runs from 20 ODIs at a staggering average of 53.85.

On the other hand, Patel tipped Rohit Sharma to end the series with the most runs. After scoring one half-century and one ton against the Aussies in the aforementioned ODI series, Rohit will look to improve his record against South Africa. The Mumbai batter has a modest average of 33.58 after playing 26 ODIs against the Rainbow Nation.
