Hilarious Fernando Mendoza-Tom Brady phone call during combine visit revealed

The Las Vegas Raiders linked Fernando Mendoza and Tom Brady together well before the NFL Draft. Plus before Kirk Cousins entered the picture in Sin City. Turns out Mendoza got on the phone with the seven-time Super Bowl champion Brady.

And Brady playfully corrected the Indiana national champion.

Mendoza first referred to the co-owner of the Raiders with the respectful “Mr. Brady.” But the NFL legend corrected him in humorous fashion during this now leaked NFL Combine visit.

Brady: “You can call me Tom. Mr. Brady is my dad.”

The incoming Raiders quarterback spoke with Brady during his appearance at the early March event in Indianapolis. Mendoza opted to avoid throwing the football at the combine and instead tossed the pigskin at Indiana’s pro day.

Mendoza still put together enough stellar moments to win over the Raiders. Brady joined the other Vegas personnel to watch the IU quarterback lead the Hoosiers to their first-ever national title in school history over Miami.

The now former IU and Cal star enters into his most highly-anticipated season yet. He’s tabbed to re-galvanize a long-suffering fanbase itching to see the Raiders become a playoff contender again. Mendoza quarterbacks a team that has only made the playoffs twice since the 2002 season. 

Of course he must fend off the NFL Free Agency pickup Cousins, who brings four Pro Bowl appearances with him. Cousins showed early signs during minicamp that he wants the QB1 role. That hands him redemption from his failed Atlanta Falcons experiment that led to his release.

But now the Raiders feature two past Pro Bowlers and Mendoza. With Mendoza now given the greenlight to avoid greeting one of them by “Mister.”
