Heiress to $6.8bn NFL empire announces engagement to son of Super Bowl-winning quarterback
Gracie Hunt, the heiress to a $6.2 billion NFL fortune, is officially engaged.
Hunt was born into NFL royalty as the first child of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, who in turn is the son of Lamar Hunt – the founder of the franchise, and the man whom the AFC Championship trophy is named after.

27-year-old Gracie grew up surrounded by a sporting dynasty and has been a regular on the sidelines as Andy Reid, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce delivered three Super Bowls over the last seven seasons.
Chiefs heiress shares exciting engagement news
Gracie announced her engagement to Derek Green, the son of former Super Bowl champion quarterback Trent Green, over the Easter weekend.
“It was always you,” she captioned her Instagram post, which featured 14 photos from Derek’s proposal.
In one of the snaps, the 26-year-old was seen down on one knee as he popped the question to Gracie at an outdoor altar decorated with white flowers.
The couple were joined by their nearest and dearest for the special moment.
Gracie’s dad and Chiefs owner Clark was present, alongside her mom Tavia.
“We’re getting another SON!!” Tavia wrote of the news on her Instagram Stories.
“Gracie Green has a nice ring to it.”
She later shared some shots of the proposal on social media, and added the caption: “Forever looks so beautiful on these two.”
Derek’s parents, Trent and Julie Green, were also in attendance.

In one of the proposal snaps, Gracie showed off her engagement ring, which according to People Magazine, is an emerald-cut, encrusted with white diamonds along the band.
How long have Gracie Hunt and Derek Green been together?
The couple’s relationship initially made headlines in April 2025, when Gracie teased Derek’s identity in a now-deleted Instagram video from Arrowhead Stadium — the iconic home of the Chiefs but also the home they will soon depart.
She hard launched their romance shortly after on Instagram, and in a post from July, stated that the two had been ‘friends since 2017.’
On March 7, 2026, she posted to social media to celebrate ‘365 days with my best friend,’ noting their first anniversary.
The couple are said to have been ‘inseparable’ for months, and likely met through their connection to the Chiefs.
Who is Derek Green’s father Trent?
Derek’s dad, Trent, had a 12-year NFL career, and played six seasons as quarterback in Kansas City.

He was a popular figure at Arrowhead, and started every regular-season game between 2001 and 2005, before being knocked unconscious in Week 1 of the following year.
Green later returned to lead the Chiefs to the playoffs, where they lost against Peyton Manning and the Indianapolis Colts in the wild-card round.
He finished his Kansas City career with 21,458 yards and 118 touchdowns, and also tied the record for the longest pass play in NFL history — 99 yards — in the 2002 season.
Trent won Super Bowl XXXIV as backup to the legendary Kurt Warner, while a member of the St. Louis Rams in 2000.

Son Derek also played quarterback, but never made it to the NFL field.
He started at SMU — a private university in Dallas — and later transferred to Long Island University.
Since stepping away from football, Derek has reportedly shifted his focus to business.
Having earned a degree in finance, he now works as a Sports Operations Manager in Kansas City.
It likely won’t be long until he’s back at Arrowhead, alongside fiancee Gracie, to cheer on the team his dad played for and the team to which his bride-to-be is heir to ownership of.
