Goga Bitadze makes wild NBA history in Magic win vs. Timberwolves
Don’t look now, but the Orlando Magic have become one of the hottest teams in the league, as the final days of the 2025-26 NBA regular season play out.
After a brutal 2-8 stretch, the Magic have put together a four-game winning streak, including their 132-120 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night at Kia Center in Orlando. Paolo Banchero paced the Magic in that game with 20 points on 8-for-11 shooting from the field, but Goga Bitadze’s contribution off the bench can’t be overlooked.
Bitadze came away with 14 points on 6-for-11 shooting, while dominating the glass and grabbing 15 boards. In addition, he dished out six assists, making him just the first player ever in the history of the NBA to have that stat line while coming off the bench and playing in 22 minutes or fewer, according to Tomer Azarly of ClutchPoints.
The 26-year-old Bitadze further stuffed the stat sheets with a steal and a block in Orlando’s final home game in the regular season.
Bitadze has proven himself a reliable depth asset for Orlando, and on Wednesday, he showed he’s capable of putting up starter numbers when he’s having a night. He should continue to play behind Wendell Carter Jr., while enjoying ample minutes as a backup.
The Magic are still chasing a spot in the top six of the Eastern Conference standings, moving just half a game behind the Toronto Raptors for the No. 6 position and a full game back of the No. 5 Atlanta Hawks.
Up next for Orlando is a game against the Chicago Bulls on Friday before a season-finale showdown opposite the Boston Celtics on Sunday.
