George Kittle tells dramatic story of how he saved wife from a big a** spider

On and off the field, San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle is a hero for his wife, Claire, as evidenced by his recent experience with a spider.

Kittle recalled his latest heroic gesture on X, formerly Twitter. He awoke in the early hours of the morning, finding an “intruder” (a spider). Kittle sprang into action.

“At 4 am this morning, as I laid in a deep slumber, I was called to action by my wife who had discovered a spider the size of a half dollar in the bathroom,” Kittle recounted on X. “Without hesitation I arose to combat the intruder. Claire handed me the slant board I’ve been using for rehab, and I immediately knew the spider had no chance.

“It took but 1 attempt to strike down my opponent. I received hugs and kisses for my bravery and fell back asleep with confidence. Have a day gentlemen. [black spider emoji],” he continued.

Kittle’s writing should land him an audition with WWE. He made a relatively mundane task sound like a scene straight out of a movie.

Currently, Kittle is enjoying his offseason with the 49ers. The Niners finished the season 12-5, and Kittle finished the year with 628 yards and seven touchdowns.

His 2025 campaign came to an abrupt end when he tore his Achilles tendon in the Wild Card Round of the playoffs. Kittle will return for his 10th year in the NFL in 2026.

Kittle has been one of the best tight ends in the NFL since his arrival in 2017. He has made seven Pro Bowls, including every one from 2021 to 2025, and has been named First-team All-Pro twice. Additionally, Kittle has been named Second-team All-Pro three times.

The 49ers have made two Super Bowls while Kittle has been part of the team. However, they lost both games to the Kansas City Chiefs.
