Former WWE champion fuels return from injury rumors after Performance Center appearance

Last seen wrestling on an episode of Monday Night RAW in 2025, Sheamus’ last in-ring bout dates back to a 6-man tag-team where he teamed up with John Cena and Rey Mysterio to defeat the Judgment Day trio of Dominik Mysterio, JD McDonagh, and Finn Bálor.

“The Celtic” Warrior was also scheduled to take part in John Cena’s retirement, Last Time is Now tournament. However, the former World Champion suffered a shoulder injury and had to be ruled out of the tournament.

Now, almost six months have passed since Sheamus was injured and sidelined. With WWE WrestleMania season now over, Sheamus has been consistently teasing and dropping major return speculations.

Sheamus was recently spotted at the WWE Performance Center, training and working out in the ring with other WWE wrestlers. He shared a carousel of photos on social media from his training session with the caption, “A fun day.” He was seen training with WWE NXT wrestlers Myles Borne, Hank Walker, and Tank Ledger. In addition to the training images, he also posted an aftermath image of the session with brutal welts on his back.

After getting ruled out of action last year, Sheamus underwent surgery in Dec. 2025 and is currently on the road to recovery. Despite the teases, as of now, there are no confirmed updates on his in-ring comeback.

Even a few weeks ago, while speaking to QTB Football, he dropped an update on the injury. “But ultimately, it was just a matter of time before it stopped moving on me. I tried to push through it to the point where I couldn’t move my arms. I had surgery on December 30. Ever since then, I’ve been rehabbing.”
