Arsenal v Wigan (Sun, 4:30pm)

  • Arsenal to win, Viktor Gyokeres to score, over 3.5 goals – (was 11/10) NOW 13/10

Premier League leaders Arsenal will be eager to get back to winning ways on Sunday afternoon as they welcome League One strugglers Wigan to the Emirates Stadium.

Mikel Arteta’s side had their lead at the top of the Premier League cut to four points in midweek after being held to a 1-1 draw at Brentford on Thursday night, putting an end to a four match winning streak.

Wigan make the daunting trip to the Emirates Stadium having lost each of their last four matches, and with just two points from their last eight in the league which leaves the currently sat in League One’s relegation zone.

Ryan Lowe’s side are presently 22nd in the third tier table, two points from safety as they stare relegation in the face which would result in first season in the fourth tier in 45 years.

Arsenal have won their last three matches with the Manchester club, their most recent meeting coming in an FA Cup semi final in 2014, when the Gunners scored a late equaliser to take the match to extra time before winning on penalties en route to lifting the trophy, with Arteta scoring in the shootout.

Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres had a slow start to his career in north London following his summer move from Portugal, but the Sweden international heads into the weekend having scored six goals in his last six starts.

Liverpool v Brighton (Sat, 8pm)

  • Liverpool to beat Brighton, Florian Wirtz to score or assist, over 2.5 goals – (was 17/10) NOW 2/1

Liverpool returned to winning ways on Wednesday night following their dramatic home loss against Manchester City on the weekend, becoming the first away team to win at the Stadium of Light in the Premier League this season.

Attention for Arne Slot’s side now turns to the FA Cup where they meet Premier League opposition on Saturday night in the shape of Brighton, with the Reds currently sixth in league, three points off the top four, and the Seagulls edging daringly into the relegation battle.

Fabian Hurzeler’s side are without a win in their last five matches, picking up just two points in that stretch and make the difficult trip to Anfield on the back of back to back defeats.

The Sussex side are seven points ahead of the relegation zone following defeat at Aston Villa on Wednesday night, but are only one point ahead of Leeds, who very much considered to be in the fight to avoid relegation.

Aston Villa v Newcastle (Sat, 5:45pm)

  • Newcastle to beat Aston Villa and both teams to score – (was 4/1) NOW 9/2

Another intriguing all-Premier League tie takes place in the FA Cup on Saturday evening as Aston Villa welcome Newcastle to Villa Park.

Unai Emery’s side have lost just one of their last six matches in all competitions following their victory over Brighton in midweek which kept them in third place, cutting the gap with league leaders Arsenal to seven points and extending the lead over fifth placed Chelsea to six.

Newcastle ended a five match winless run on Tuesday night with victory at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to lift themselves back into the top half of the Premier League table.

Eddie Howe’s side won their first piece of domestic silverware in 70 years last season, and the FA Cup stands at their final realistic chance of adding another trophy to the cabinet.
