Ex-MLB star gets completely honest on Dodgers’ brutal losing streak

The Los Angeles Dodgers looked vulnerable in recent weeks. Los Angeles enters Saturday riding an astonishing seven-game losing slide. Even newcomer Tarik Skubal hasn’t tasted victory in LA yet, losing his Dodgers start to the Chicago Cubs.

Now a former MLB star dropped fierce honesty toward manager Dave Roberts and the defending World Series champions.

Past World Series winning pitcher Dontrelle Willis spoke about this current slide Saturday. He believes the bullpen has become a weakness.

“Since July 1, they’ve had a five ERA which is unacceptable. Especially with all the talent you have in the backend of that bullpen,” the Fox Sports analyst Willis stated.

Willis dropped an even worse stat attached to LA: all seven losses featured a blown lead.

“That’s why I’m concerned,” Willis said.

Willis called out the back of the bullpen outside of the starters. Plus sent this warning out to LA.

“They gotta be able to get back on the horse because quietly the Diamondbacks are shaving this lead down,” he said.

Los Angeles hasn’t been at full health on the mound. Even versatile star Shohei Ohtani is dealing with knee irritation that’s limited him to designated hitting duties for LA.

Yet Dodger fans know this situation well from last year. Los Angeles endured a similar skid one year ago but still got hot late and repeated as champs. Fans and MLB analysts know how deeply talented this roster still is. Adding Skubal via the Detroit Tigers further boosted the three-peat chances.

But now LA has to operate with more urgency, with Willis now reminding the team that the D-Backs aren’t far behind.
