Everton vs Manchester City predictions and betting tips – Get 10/11 on Guardiola’s men

Manchester City could be six points adrift of top spot in the Premier League by the time they face Everton on Monday. That would put Pep Guardiola’s team under a degree of pressure.

City are in fantastic form, though, and they are the favourites to win this match. Will City get the job done on their first ever visit to the Hill Dickinson Stadium?

Everton vs Manchester City predictions

Manchester City have done an expert job of putting pressure on Arsenal in recent weeks, but the Gunners have the chance to turn the tables on their Premier League title rivals this weekend.

Already three points clear of City in a two-horse race, Arsenal have the chance to double their advantage by beating Fulham on Saturday.

The Gunners would have played two matches more than City at that point, but every manager in world football prefers points in the bag to games in hand at this stage of the season.

It would then be up to City to respond. Pep Guardiola’s team are now many people’s favourites to win the title, a situation which alters the dynamic of the battle.

City are no longer outsiders desperately trying to claw back the long-time league leaders. From this point onwards, there is arguably more expectation on them than there is on Arsenal.

Of the two contenders, City are in better form – but not by as much as you might think. They have collected 14 points from the last 18 available, compared to 12 for Arsenal.

The momentum has been with Guardiola’s side of late, but that could change if Arsenal make it back-to-back victories by overcoming Fulham on Saturday. However, City are banking on their experience getting them over the line.

“You have to win every single game and we have done it in the past,” Guardiola said last month. “So we can do it and maybe we know exactly what you have to do to win it.”

Everton vs Manchester City betting tips

Everton are one of several clubs in the conversation for European football with four games remaining.

They are in the bottom half after back-to-back defeats by Liverpool and West Ham United, but sixth-placed Brighton & Hove Albion only have three more points to their name than David Moyes’ men.

Everton will give Manchester City one or two things to think about, but it is hard to see them halting their opponents’ charge.

However, we do expect the Toffees to breach City’s backline, as Arsenal and Southampton did in April.

Man City to come on strong

Everton are still getting used to their new surroundings at the Hill Dickinson Stadium following their departure from Goodison Park last summer.

Moyes’ side are fifth in the away table but only 14th in the home equivalent, and they have collected a majority of their points at opposition stadiums.

That does not mean Everton will be unable to give Manchester City a game on Monday, but this is arguably not as difficult an assignment as a trip to Goodison would have been.

City’s superior quality is likely to show as the game wears on. Their second-half record is iffy this season, but on this occasion City should take control after the break.

Haaland on scoresheet?

With the likes of Antoine Semenyo, Rayan Cherki and Nico O’Reilly all contributing in a positive way, Manchester City are no longer so reliant on Erling Haaland for goals.

Yet the Norway international remains City’s principal threat in the final third, as evidenced by his league-leading return of 24 goals this term.

Haaland has not been at his best this calendar year, but the evidence of the last few weeks suggests he is slowly getting back there.

Haaland has scored five goals in his last five appearances in all competitions, and he is likely to have a big influence on this contest – probably by doing what he does best and introducing the ball to the net.

Manchester City have won 15 and drawn two of their last 17 games against Everton. The Toffees have not beaten City since January 2017, when Ronald Koeman was their manager. A win on Monday would give Manchester City the best away record in the Premier League this season.
