“Last week, I was involved in a serious car accident in Missouri and was airlifted to Mercy Hospital,” Miller wrote.

“I’m deeply grateful for the exceptional care I have received, from the first responders to the doctors, nurses and medical staff. I’m incredibly fortunate to be writing this.

“As a result of the accident, I sustained significant injuries, including multiple fractures and broken ribs.”

“I also underwent a life-saving amputation of my left arm, while I have a long road ahead, I’m focused on my recovery and taking things one day at a time.

“Thank you for the overwhelming support, prayers, and kind messages — they have meant so much to me and my family during this time.

“I look forward to continuing my recovery and getting back to ESPN to talk football, including what should be an exciting 2027 NFL Draft class.”

KOAM News reported on the accident last week, revealing it occurred on Wednesday (June 17) afternoon.

According to the news outlet, Miller crossed the center line on Missouri Route 96 before colliding with a semi-truck.

The driver of said truck was not injured, but Miller sustained life-altering injuries.

Miller has been with ESPN since 2021 after working as Bleacher Report’s lead NFL Draft writer for more than a decade.

Miller is the year-round draft analyst, making his on-air debut in 2023, and is considered to be the successor to Mel Kiper when he retires.

Not afraid of opinions, he once claimed that New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye’s game was filled with bad habits.

Ashton Jeanty is Saquon Barkley 2.0, and there will never be quarterbacks like Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady again.

NFL reporters and fans send best wishes to Miller

Miller’s colleagues and fans have jumped to the support of the 42-year-old during this incredibly tough time.

“Best wishes for a speedy recovery. We are all pulling for you,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter commented.

“Thank God you’re okay, Matt! Will be thinking of you and praying for you,” ESPN NFL analyst Benjamin Solak said.

“Get well and hang in there!!” NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport replied.

“Matt, I am a big fan of your work… So sorry to hear this! I wish you the best care and support. Hang in there!” a fan added.

“You’ve got millions of people who are going to be by your side during that road to recovery. I am so sorry that happened but we are all so grateful that you’re with us. We’re the fortunate ones that you’re able to write this. Our love and prayers to you, Matt. You’ve got this.” A second fan said in an emotional message.
