Errol Spence Jr vs Tim Tszyu: Date, undercard and where to watch

Errol Spence Jr is looking to blow off the cobwebs against Tim Tszyu after three years on the sidelines.

The former unified welterweight champion hasn’t set foot in the ring since his devastating ninth-round stoppage loss to Terence Crawford in July 2023.

Failed negotiations with Sebastian Fundora and Jermell Charlo preceded an agreement to fight Tszyu at a catchweight of 158lbs.

The jump up in weight comes after a particularly torrid time boiling himself down to 147lbs for his last few fights.

Spence Jr has reiterated that his comeback is on a ‘fight-by-fight basis’ and that his performance against Tszyu will determine whether he fights again.

That will be music to Tszyu’s ears, who has vowed to retire Spence Jr.

Spence Jr and Tszyu will lock horns on Saturday, July 11.

The 12-round clash will be held at the Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney, Australia.

The event will be a pay-per-view attraction worldwide.

Spence Jr said: “Tszyu has been dismissive of me. He’s saying his little things about how he’s gonna retire me.

“At the end of the day, it’s a war. He’s coming to retire me and take my name.

“I’m coming to conquer his country. I’ll shake his hand after the fight, but right now it’s game time.”

Tszyu added: “The question is, what does Errol Spence Jr. have in the tank after three years off?
