Ernie Johnson turns heads with Taylor Swift admission in Knicks-Spurs Game 4

The New York Knicks and the San Antonio Spurs faced off in Game 4 of the NBA Finals at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday. There were numerous storylines to discuss, numbers to crunch, and narratives to dissect for Ernie Johnson and “Inside the NBA” crew.

But first, celebrities.

Before doing his usual work for ESPN, Johnson had to fulfill his grandfather duties.

The ever-amiable host took a picture with pop star Taylor Swift, who was among the dozens of A-list celebrities in attendance.

During the halftime show, Johnson expressed his joy over his wholesome moment with Swift, who was cheering for the Knicks.

“I just became the coolest grandpa in the history of the world. My grandkids were so excited,” said the award-winning host.

“She could not have been sweeter. Thank you very much.”

If you do not pose for pictures with big-time celebrities at one of the world’s most famous arenas, are you really a grandparent?

After the cool moment, Johnson had to—wait for it—shake it off, as he had to do his job. And boy, did he have his work cut out for him.

Game 4 turned out to be one of the most iconic games in sports history, as the Knicks stormed back from a 29-point deficit to beat the Spurs by a solitary point, 107-106.
