Emeka Egbuka reveals reason behind belief in ‘dangerous’ Buccaneers offense
After a rough ending to the 2025 NFL season, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers opted to add a new voice to their offense by replacing Josh Grizzard, who departed after just one year as offensive coordinator, with former Atlanta Falcons OC Zac Robinson as their new top offensive assistant.
Discussing what Robinson brings to the table as a disciple of the Sean McVay offense that is currently sweeping the National Football League, 2025 breakout rookie wide receiver Emeka Egbuka told NFL Network’s Sarah Walsh that he is incredibly excited about Tampa Bay’s new offense, as they will absolutely eat with the number of talented playmakers already under contract.
“Yeah, I think he brings a new style of offense. I think coming from Atlanta, obviously, they had a lot of success there last year. They had, you know, a great wide receiver production when it comes to Drake London. Obviously, they got the running back involved. They got Bijan. And then, you know, their tight end Kyle Pitts had a great year as well. So I think he does a great job of utilizing all the weapons that he’s given,” Egbuka said.
“And obviously, coming to Tampa, he has a lot of weapons. He has me, he has Chris, he has Jalen McMillan, he has Bucky Irving, Tez Johnson, Cade Otton. There’s so many weapons that are at his disposal now. I think just the more creative ways he finds to give us the ball with Baker at the helm, I think we’re going to have a really dangerous offense.”
Despite taking a major step back in 2025 from their offensive production in 2024, where they ranked top-5 in passing and receiving yards, the Buccaneers still have a stacked offense filled with a unique blend of proven performers and high-upside youngsters. If Robinson can improve Tampa Bay’s playcalling and put his players in a position to succeed, who knows? Maybe the Buccaneers will be right back in the Super Bowl conversation once more.
