Eddie Hall opens door to Thor Bjornsson rematch on one new condition

Eddie Hall is willing to rematch strongman rival Thor Bjornsson, but not in boxing.

Hall famously laced up his boxing gloves for the first time when he took on fellow World’s Strongest Man Bjornsson in 2022.

The Briton was dropped twice and beaten on points during the clash in a brutal blow, although many believed the pair would meet again.

But the strongmen went their separate ways and despite brief talks, a sequel never materialised.

Hall has had a busy combat sports career since fighting multiple times in MMA, where he has seen huge success.

His next outing will come in a blockbuster clash with Tommy Fury in Manchester on June 13, as first reported by talkSPORT.com.

And although leaving Bjornsson behind him, he would still meet him again but would much prefer it in the cage.

He told talkSPORT.com: “Yeah MMA potentially yes I’d do it again.

“In all honesty, I’d rather fight Thor in the street but yeah I’d do it in MMA.

“If the money is right for sure I’d do it, I’d fight anybody.”

Bjornsson has been inactive since facing Hall, and hasn’t laced up his gloves again.

The Icelandic giant has never fought in MMA but has trained in grappling in the past.

A bout seems unlikely, but the heavyweight showdown was hugely popular commercially the first time around, so may be explored again if Hall beats Fury.

Hall’s plans for combat sports career

Although a rematch with Bjornsson could depend on an offer, Hall plans to hang around.

In the event he loses to Fury in their open rules clash, ‘Beast’ still believes he has a future in MMA.

The 38-year-old still has big plans and wants to fight for an MMA title to round off his stint.

He added to talkSPORT: “Yeah I feel like I should end my career on a bang.

“I’d love to fight somebody for a title, or any kind of champion, that would be perfect.

“It would be a great thing to do and then call it a day and stop fighting.”
