Eagles’ Jalen Hurts allegedly snubs AJ Brown at wedding

While many attended Philadelphia Eagles’ AJ Brown and Kelsey Riley’s wedding, one of his teammates, quarterback Jalen Hurts, was not there amid the rumors tension involving them.

TMZ reports that Hurts didn’t celebrate the nuptials despite his longstanding relationship with the wide receiver. They also note that it was “unclear” whether or not he was even invited.

The wedding went down during the May 16 weekend at a resort in Montage Laguna Beach. While Hurts’ absence is notable, TMZ did not that there weren’t any “current” Eagles players there. Former cornerback Darius Slay was spotted, though.

Hurts and Brown have been friends for years. As TMZ notes, they have known each other since high school, and the quarterback is the godfather to Brown’s daughter, Jersee.

Allegedly, Hurts attempted to court Brown to play for Alabama while in college. He would later campaign to have Philadelphia trade for the wide receiver, who was with the Tennessee Titans at the time.

The trade happened, and for a while, their connection was electric. Brown has had more than 1,000 yards in all four seasons with the Eagles, but 2025 was a down year. After being teammates for a few years, rumors have swirled about a rift between them.

Reports surfaced during the 2026 offseason that they were “professional” during the season, but they both “internalize” their feelings. This has led to a “lack of communication,” worsening their problems.

Together, Hurts and Brown have won a Super Bowl. The receiver has been named to three Second-team All-Pro teams and two Pro Bowls since being traded to the City of Brotherly Love.

Hurts was named Super Bowl MVP in the team’s win over the Kansas City Chiefs in February 2025. Like Brown, the three-time Pro Bowler was also named Second-team All-Pro in 2022.
