Dream’s Angel Reese gets real on impressive stat vs. Sky

Atlanta Dream star forward Angel Reese came out on top in her revenge game against her former team, the Chicago Sky, on Tuesday night.

In her first game against the Sky since getting traded by Chicago in the offseason, the former LSU Tigers star Reese showed out and torched the Sky with a double-double of 17 points and 17 rebounds, while adding four assists in 35 minutes of action to help the Dream score an 82-75 victory at Wintrust Arena in Chicago, Illinois.

During the postgame interview, Reese was informed about her notching the 57th double-double performance of her career in the league.

“It doesn’t matter unless I get a win,” the two-time WNBA rebounding champion said (h/t espnW).

Reese has been quite an addition to the Dream’s roster, and she’s proving to be a huge asset for the team.

The two-time WNBA All-Star entered the Sky game with 2026 season averages of 13.3 points, 11.7 rebounds and 3.1 assists, while shooting 41.7 percent from the field.

While her outside shooting remains an area she clearly needs to work on (9.1 percent shooting from deep in the first 10 games), Reese brings a lot to the table for the Dream with her inside scoring, presence in the middle, and, perhaps most importantly, rebounding.

With their win over the Sky, Reese and the Dream are now at 8-3 and have won four of their last five games, including the last two.

Up ahead for Atlanta is a rest day on Wednesday before resuming work on Friday for a home game against the visiting New York Liberty at Gateway Center in Atlanta, Georgia.
