Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani confirms his pitching season is likely over
Do not expect to see Shohei Ohtani take the mound for the remainder of the 2026 MLB campaign, with the Los Angeles Dodgers’ two-way superstar seemingly confirming that he’s done with pitching duties this season.
Speaking through interpreter Will Ireton, Ohtani said that it’s “disappointing” to be limited to hitting only (h/t Katie Woo of The Athletic).
“The thing I was more focused on was to make sure that the pitching wouldn’t cause the most worst scenario, which was for me to not be able to play at all,” the Japanese superstar added.
