Drake receives F1 Kimi Räikkönen-inspired ice sculpture in Iceman rollout

Drake is taking his Iceman rollout to another level.

The Grammy-winning rapper released Iceman last month, and he’s not done reminding fans that he’s back. On Monday, June 1, the rapper received an ice sculpture replica of Kimi Räikkönen’s 2006 McLaren MP4-21 Formula 1 car as he continues to promote his ninth studio album. Like most statements Drake is known for, the sculpture has a double meaning. This specific F1 racecar, while it is made out of literal ice, also carries the same name as his release, “The Iceman.” This is not the first time the 2006 McLaren MP4-21 Formula 1 got the ice treatment, as it was sculpted before during the Monaco Grand Prix for driver Räikkönen in 2006.

The ice sculpture is a way to round out Drake’s latest musical takeover following the release of not just Iceman but of his two additional albums — Maid of Honour and Habibiti — that share the same May 15 drop day as Iceman. The Toronto rapper had several notable achievements with the drop, including being the first artist in Billboard history to simultaneously occupy the top three spots of the Billboard 200, and passing Michael Jackson for the most career No. 1 songs by a solo male artist. Additionally, with his album going No. 1 on the Billboard 200, he secured his 15th top spot on the chart, surpassing hip-hop icon Jay-Z.

This is not the only ice project that Drake has created during his album rollout. The rapper made an interactive and viral movement for fans to figure out the release date of Iceman in Toronto.

Drake also froze courtside seats during a Toronto Raptors game prior to the Iceman release.
