Don’t be alarmed by Kyle Hamilton watching Ravens OTAs from sidelines
The Baltimore Ravens are currently taking part in OTAs as they prepare for the upcoming 2026 NFL season. The Ravens are looking to bounce back after missing the playoffs altogether in what was a frustrating 2025 season, and have since replaced head coach John Harbaugh with Jesse Minter.
Recently, Ravens insider Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reported on a key name for the Ravens who was out of the lineup for OTAs on Tuesday, but it’s not anything that should alarm fans.
“Kyle Hamilton watched most of practice from sideline. Minter said he expects safety to return to the field as a participant later in OTAs. Teddye Buchanan, who watched practice as well, is recovering from knee injury,” reported Zrebiec on X, formerly Twitter.
Hamilton has established himself as one of the top defensive backs in the league during his tenure with the Ravens, and is a key member of what has historically been one of the better defensive units in the NFL.
The Ravens’ defense has gotten off to sluggish starts over the last couple of years, which has contributed to Baltimore stumbling out of the gates, and they are hoping to set the tone early and often heading into the 2026 season. Last year, the Ravens defense never quite reached the level that fans are accustomed to, with the team finding itself torched by the aging Aaron Rodgers of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the last game of the season to miss out on the playoffs.
It would also help the Ravens’ cause for Lamar Jackson to return to form after a down season last year.
The Ravens’ 2026 season is slated to get underway in early September, with the full schedule having been released last week.
