President Donald Trump has Jaxson Dart’s back.

The New York Giants quarterback has gotten some heat after he introduced the president at a campaign event for Rep. Mike Lawler on May 22, 2026. After the backlash, Dart was called out to by teammates such as Abdul Carter, who was confused by the quarterback being at the event and for introducing the president, initially thinking it was AI. They have, however, spoken about the matter privately and hashed out thoughts on the matter.

Dart later officially spoke on the matter to the media during a Giants press conference, defending his appearance at the campaign event.

“Obviously, this was a unique opportunity. Being asked and given the opportunity to introduce the President of the United States, my thinking was pretty simple, in the fact of, I’ve always loved this country,” Dart told reporters. “I have extended family members who have fought in wars. I have two uncles who have retired from the Air Force Academy and served themselves.”

He continued that the reason behind his appearance was for the respect of the military as well as his family members who have served.

“I even have a great-grandfather who served as the Secretary of the Treasury at some point,” he continued. “The president position has always been a position that I have a lot of respect in, regardless of political affiliation, regardless of political party.”

Dart added, “My intentions were just that.”

Trump must have caught wind of Dart’s explanation and thanked the quarterback, adding that he is officially invited to the White House.

“Thank you Jaxson!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “It was great being with you. I know you’re taking some heat from the Radical Left Lunatics who are jealous of you, me, and everyone who surrounds us but, I also know that your Jersey also went to Number One, and you’re making Millions of Dollars so, YOU ARE A WINNER — THEY ARE ALL LOSERS. I’ll see you in the White House!”

While the Giants have not responded to Trump’s latest post online, Carter spoke at the press conference as well about the incident. The Giants linebacker shared that while they might not agree there is no bad blood between them and that he wants to move forward.

“Some things are bigger than football, and this is one of those things,” Carter said during the press conference. “If he chooses to align himself with a man like President Trump, it’s my responsibility based on what I believe and what I stand on to not only show my teammates that I’m against that, but to show the world.”

“That doesn’t mean that we have to spread hate. That doesn’t mean that me and Jaxson hate each other or we have beef. I sit next to Jaxson every day — we’re close, we talk,” he continued, adding later, “I just want to move past this.”
