Does Sir Alex Ferguson have horses in the 2026 Grand National?

Sir Alex Ferguson will be hoping for some success at Aintree this April as the Grand National takes centre-stage.

The iconic Manchester United manager loves his racing and he has owned around 30 horses, winning all around the country.

He didn’t taste victory at Cheltenham in March, with his best results being third-place finishes with L’Eau du Sud and Regent’s Stroll.

However, he’ll be eyeing glory at Aintree after keeping one of his stars off the track to make sure they were focused on this meeting.

But will Ferguson have any running in the Grand National itself?

Does Sir Alex have any horses in the Grand National?

Ferguson will not have any runners in the Grand National.

Last year, the legendary football boss had Hitman running in the iconic race, but he had to be pulled up at the rear.

And now this time around, he has no entries for the race.

The Scotsman will have a few runners at Aintree elsewhere at the meeting though, with Potter’s Charm in action.

Potter’s Charm is set to run in the Aintree Hurdle on April 9 after bypassing the Cheltenham Festival.

Meanwhile, Protektorat and Maestro Conti are expected to be running too, with official confirmations coming soon.

Ferguson had a winner away from the Grand National at Aintree last year, as Kalif Du Berlais won the Maghull Novices’ Chase to claim a prize of £67,524, alongside £12,732 for L’Eau Du Sud coming third.

When is the Grand National?

The 2026 Grand National will take place on Saturday, April 11.

It will get started at 4pm at the iconic Aintree Racecourse.
