Dodgers’ Max Muncy walks off Rangers to cap off 3-home run game
It was a Friday night of pure drama as Max Muncy launched three home runs, finishing the job with a walk-off shot to give the Los Angeles Dodgers an 8-7 win over the Texas Rangers.
Muncy’s three-homer outing was the second time in his MLB career that he achieved the feat. He opened the scoring in the second inning with a solo home run, added another solo shot in the fourth inning, and ended the game with a 401-foot walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning off Rangers reliever Jakob Latz on a 0-2 count. The win came after closer Edwin Diaz blew his first save of the season, allowing a three-run ninth that tied the game at 7-7.

Muncy finished 4-for-5 with five runs scored and three RBIs, and moved into third place on the Dodgers’ all-time home run list with 213, passing Steve Garvey. His three-homer game was also his 20th career multi-homer performance.
Los Angeles improved to 10-3, becoming the first team to reach double-digit wins this season. They also secured their sixth comeback win of the season and have now won six of their last seven games.
Andy Pages was a difference-maker in the comeback, collecting three hits and four RBIs, including a go-ahead two-run double in the sixth and a two-run homer in the eighth that put the Dodgers in front 7-4 before the ninth-inning collapse. Pages also drew a walk in the fifth.
Texas shortstop Corey Seager hit a three-run home run in the third inning against Tyler Glasnow, while Wyatt Langford hit a solo home run in the fifth to take a 4-2 lead.
Glasnow pitched six innings, allowing four runs on five hits with seven strikeouts. Meanwhile, Diaz was charged with the blown save before Muncy’s walk-off went against Jakob Latz. Shohei Ohtani extended his on-base streak to 44 games with a single and a walk, continuing a franchise-record run.
The Dodgers and Rangers continue their three-game series Saturday, with Emmet Sheehan facing Jack Leiter.
