Bayley backstage at a non-WWE event amid contract rumors and hiatus

A lot of talk has been made about Bayley’s WWE contract status, as there were rumors she was leaving the company, but she was recently seen at another wrestling show.

TNA is one of the largest professional wrestling promotions behind WWE, though they have an ongoing partnership, lending their talent to each other. Perhaps Bayley could jump ship if she doesn’t re-sign with WWE.

Where is Bayley amid her WWE contract rumors?

Bayley has not been seen on WWE programming since Saturday Night’s Main Event on July 18. She lost to her once-tag team partner, Lyra Valkyria, and was beaten down afterward.

She did make her return during a house show, but Dave Meltzer then reported that she hadn’t yet signed a new contract with the promotion. Her contract reportedly expires towards the end of the year. The ending of her match against Valkyria gives WWE options — that could either be the way she is written out of storylines or set her up for a big return.

If WWE lets Bayley walk, she will definitely have an active free agent market. Companies like AEW, where her close friend Mercedes Moné (formerly Sasha Banks) works, would likely be interested.

Bayley is the first-ever WWE Women’s Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion. Her accolades include four main roster world championships, though she also won the NXT Women’s Championship once. She was also one-half of the inaugural Women’s Tag Team Champions (with Banks), and she won the titles twice. Additionally, she has won a Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and a Royal Rumble. If she’s done in WWE, she accomplished nearly everything imaginable during her career.
