Dodgers’ Kike Hernandez exits Rockies showdown with oblique injury
Los Angeles Dodgers utility player Kiké Hernandez exited Tuesday night’s game against the Colorado Rockies after appearing to suffer an injury while running the bases at Dodger Stadium. Hernández was later shown visibly upset in the dugout while manager Dave Roberts consoled him during the game.
The development is significant for Los Angeles given Hernandez’s defensive versatility and recent offensive form during the Dodgers’ blowout performance vs. the Rockies, where the club led by seven runs at the time of his exit.
Dodgers Nation’s Nelson Espinal reported on X, formerly Twitter, sharing video of Hernandez visibly upset in the dugout while Dave Roberts spoke with the Dodgers outfielder during the top of the fifth inning.
“Kike Hernandez is out of the game after seemingly picking up an injury while running the bases.
Hernandez was upset upon entering the dugout, with Dave Roberts consoling him.
A shame considering how well he has been hitting.”
