Dodgers infielder expresses confidence that Kiké Hernandez will still help win World Series despite injury
After Los Angeles Dodgers star Kiké Hernandez suffered an injury against the Colorado Rockies in the 15-6 win on Tuesday, it was later revealed that he had sustained an oblique injury. As the update with the Dodgers player in Hernandez is that he had a “significant tear” in his oblique and will miss six to eight weeks, his teammate and close friend would share how he’ll return.
Los Angeles infielder Miguel Rojas was on 97.1 The Fan and would be asked about Hernandez’s injury, as he went into the thought process of the injured star. He would also declare that when Hernandez comes back in the more important games of the year, like the World Series, he’s going to be “valuable.”
“So Kike is in a good place of mind right now, he is going to continue to get ready to get back on the field, and help us win when it matters the most,” Rojas said. “Kike is way more valuable than any other player in the league, which is the playoffs, and when it really counts for us to win a World Series…It’s a tough blow for us, not just for Kike, but for all the other guys that we don’t have on the roster right now. We’re hoping for them to get well soon and get back on the field as soon as possible.”

Dodgers’ Kike Hernandez set to miss more time in 2026
There’s no denying how frustrating a season it has been for the Dodgers slugger in Hernandez, as already recovering from an injury that made him miss the majority of the start of 2026; he made his debut last Monday. In the next game, he would suffer an oblique injury, now having to be on the shelf for longer.
“He knew what he could have done better to kind of avoid it, and all that, but I mean, we are professional baseball players that really like to be on the field,” Rojas said.
It remains to be seen when Hernandez returns from the oblique injury, as the team is currently at a 36-20 record, first in the NL West.
