Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman gets brutally honest on win vs. Chris Sale, Braves
The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Atlanta Braves 3-1 on Friday night. Freddie Freeman played a big role in the win, as he hit a home run. Braves ace Chris Sale allowed only three runs across seven innings of work, but the Dodgers’ pitching held strong while the offense did just enough in the victory. After the game, Freeman commented on the win against Sale and the Braves, via Fredo Cervantes of The Sporting Tribune.
“Facing a Cy Young Award winner… To beat those kind of guys in the way we did with our pitching staff covering eight innings… Emmet (Sheehan) was great in his four and two thirds (innings),” Freeman said. “You’re playing against the team with the best record. They’ve been playing really good baseball.”
The Braves have played well all season. They entered Friday’s game tied for the best record in all of MLB. The Dodgers have also played well and they got the job done at home.
The win came after LA placed Tyler Glasnow on the injured list before the game. However, the Dodgers have also received good news in recent days, as both Mookie Betts and Blake Snell are expected to return soon.
Atlanta is now 26-13 overall. Los Angeles improved to 24-14 with the victory. These ball clubs could certainly end up going head-to-head in the postseason. Their games in May already have a postseason feel.
Saturday night’s contest will likely be competitive as well as the Dodgers host the Braves once again at 9:10 PM EST.
