Diamondbacks’ Corbin Carroll gets beaned in the head, still scores on Little League homer
Arizona Diamondbacks outfielder Corbin Carroll is known for his ability to hit triples. But on Tuesday, he was able to stretch an extra base hit even further.
Carroll roped a ball to deep center field and made it to third for another signature triple. But the relay throw bounced off of his helmet and went back into the outfield. Carroll was then able to scamper home for a run.

While Carroll’s wild play opened the scoring for the Diamondbacks, it has been all San Francisco Giants since. Led by home runs by Rafael Devers and Daniel Susac, the Giants took a 6-1 lead after six innings.
As the Diamondbacks look to come back on Tuesday, and compete throughout the entire 2026 season, they’ll be relying on Carroll to continue being a crucial contributor atop the rotation. Three-baggers once again haven’t been a problem for the outfielder, as he entered Tuesday’s slate leading all of baseball with five.
Over his first 44 games in 2026, Carroll is hitting .284 with seven home runs, 24 RBIs and six stolen bases. Heading into Tuesday, he ranked second on the Diamondbacks in stolen bases and third in both home runs and RBIs.
Carroll is coming off of a 30/30 season. He has at least 22 home runs and 32 stolen bases every year since 2023, earning two All-Star nominations in that stretch. The Diamondbacks know competing in the NL West is daunting, but when healthy, Arizona is more optimistic with Carroll in their lineup.
The franchise won’t be expecting many more triples turned inside the parkers via a head donk. But with Carroll scoring a run, the Diamondbacks won’t complain.
