Man United forced to make change to newly released kit due to UEFA rules as statement released
Manchester United have been forced to make a change to their third kit this season.
The Red Devils released their final strip for the 2026/27 season last week, and it features a different Snapdragon logo.

As opposed to the home and away kits this year, the third strip does not have the wording that goes with the Snapdragon badge.
Instead, it is just on its own to give the kit a clean and sharp look.
However, once the Champions League kicks in, that will have to change.
UEFA rules stipulate that all shirts worn in the Champions League must be consistent.
This means that when in Europe, the ‘Snapdragon’ wording will be added to ensure all three of Man United’s kits have synergy.
In a short statement on the Man United website, they confirmed this.
“The Reds are due to sport the jersey when required across domestic competition this term, although UEFA rules mean that the ‘Snapdragon’ wordmark will be added to our players’ shirts for any Champions League matches it is worn in.
“This is because the same version of a logo must be used across all of a club’s kits in the tournament, so the sponsor on the third strip needs to match that on our new home and away releases, which feature the wordmark.”

No repeat
Man United might have three shiny new kits, but talkSPORT’s chief football anchor Adrian Durham is not expecting big things for the Red Devils this season.
United have only made two first-team additions in the transfer window so far – and have the Champions League to contend with.
Michael Carrick‘s men only played 40 matches last year with no European football after crashing out of the domestic cups at the earliest possible opportunity.
And Durham thinks they’ll struggle.
Speaking on Kick-Off with Stuart Pearce and Darren Lewis, he said: “I think Spurs will finish above Man United and that Leeds will finish above Man United.
“I’m wondering what’s going on there at United defensively for a start… I’m a massive Michael Carrick fan, but they had 40 games last season and you can easily say they underachieved.
“So, how are they going to cope with more games and being expected to go deep in more competitions? They’re not expected to go out early in the Champions League.
“I’m struggling to see them perform to the levels in the Premier League that they did last season.
“I think Leeds is a bit of a rogue one and Spurs are a rogue one, bare in mind where they finished last season.”

More needed
With not long to go until the transfer window closes, Carrick has urged the board to bring in some more additions.
Speaking last week ahead of a 4-2 loss to Ruben Amorim‘s AC Milan, he said: “We’re delighted with the players we’ve brought in, first and foremost.
“We’ve improved the group. We’ve improved the squad in different ways. Balance, quality and the direction we want to go in.
“So the players that we’ve brought in, I think we’ve done really good business and we’ve got some top, top, top players. So we’re delighted with that. We always want to improve.
“We want more, we need more. We keep looking forward to how we can do that. So that never stops. We’re conscious of that and we’ve got to keep pushing.”
Man United start their 2026/27 Premier League campaign on Saturday against Hull City – live on talkSPORT at 12:30pm.
