Dave Portnoy slams Victor Wembanyama as Spurs star breaks down in tears over NBA Finals run

The Alien has landed.

Victor Wembanyama inspired the San Antonio Spurs into the NBA Finals for the first time in a blockbuster Game 7 victory.

The Oklahoma City Thunder were one game from facing the New York Knicks, but Wemby’s Spurs set up a decider and triumphed 111-103.

Wembanyama had 22 points and seven rebounds, as well as shutting down old rival Chet Holmgren.

He broke down in tears during wild celebrations from the Western Conference Finals.

Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy thinks the 22-year-old lost his focus.

“Wemby get yourself under control. Job not done. Long way to go. Long way to go. Didn’t come this far just to come this far,” he posted on X.

Wembanyama is making no apologies for wearing his heart on his sleeve.

“It’s impossible not to enjoy it,” he said. “It’s way too hard!

“I haven’t built a large enough emotional reservoir yet—it’s impossible not to enjoy a moment like this. It’s overflowing.

“We’ll have to lock back in pretty soon but for now it’s an incredible feeling.”

The Knicks breezed past the Cleveland Cavaliers to complete a second sweep of the postseason.

Wembanyama, who spent time training with Shaolin Monks last year, fired a warning to his rivals.

“We want four more. We are not done,” he roared.

The Frenchman is quickly becoming the face of the NBA and keeps adding new tools to his arsenal.

Already a two-time All-Star, Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, he is now looking to win San Antonio’s first title since 2014.

If he brings home the Larry O’Brien trophy, he will join legends like David Robinson and Tim Duncan in the history books.

“Back in October, we knew we had a chance to be pretty good,” Spurs coach Mitch Johnson said. “The players did what they’ve been doing all year and they met the biggest moment.”

Reigning MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander put up 35 points and nine assists for the defending champion Thunder, but it was not enough.

“You have to grow from every experience, including the tough ones,” OKC coach Mark Daigneault said. “And it’s the NBA – there are tough ones. We can also be really disappointed. There’s nobody that we don’t think we can beat, respectfully.”
