Dana White attempts to hijack another Eddie Hearn boxer with ‘seven times’ bigger offer

Dana White could be about to snatch another boxer from right under Eddie Hearn’s nose.

Four months removed from Zuffa Boxing’s stunning hijack of Conor Benn, the White-fronted promotional outfit is attempting to snap up big-ticket seller Johnny Fisher.

‘The Romford Bull’ recently announced that he had become a free agent following the expiration of his deal with Matchroom Boxing.

But while discussions got underway regarding a renewal, Zuffa Boxing swooped in with a lucrative offer.

So lucrative, in fact, that Fisher claims it is ‘six or seven times’ more than what Matchroom had placed on the table.

Johnny Fisher reveals all on Zuffa offer

“I’ve been made an offer by Zuffa or Zaffa, whatever you call it,” Fisher told The Stomping Ground.

“I messaged Eddie last night before my manager put the proposed agreement to him, and I asked him what could be done.

“My manager said that there is a possibility that I don’t even have to give Eddie matching rights to this because of a match that happened in the past… but that’s besides the point.

“It wouldn’t be right to try and challenge that.

“I want to give Eddie the chance to give me something close to that, so let’s see what Eddie comes back with.

“It’s an exciting time for me. The money is one thing, and for the level of fights I’m being asked to have, it’s six or seven times what I’ve been offered by Eddie.

“So I have got to consider it, and I have got to put that to Eddie, surely.”

Pressed on the particulars of the deal, Fisher added: “I’ve been offered a one-fight deal, but it is exceptional money.

“Obviously, I’ve got to consider that because it is a lot higher than I’ve been offered [by Matchroom].”

When was Johnny Fisher’s last fight?

Fisher has been out of action since his run-out in Monte Carlo against Ivan Balaz.

While he stopped the previously undefeated Slovakian in the fourth round, his performance left a lot to be desired.

The 27-year-old was badly hurt in the opening stanza and had to hold on for dear life to hear the bell.

In his previous outing, he saw his stock tumble when he was knocked out in the fifth round by Dave Allen.
