Court designs for Knicks-Spurs 2026 NBA Finals will catch fans’ attention

Basketball fans asked for it. Sports personalities requested for its return. And the NBA is making sure that the NBA Finals courts have the personality they rightfully deserve ahead of the 2026 series between the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks.

The NBA Finals has lost its aesthetic in past decades. It went from having the logo to the Larry O’Brien trophy painted midcourt to only having the italicized Finals logo on each side of the court. Then it disappeared in the mid-2010s onwards.

The NBA Finals lost its allure and presentation in the past decade, earning criticism from fans from all aspects. It finally took until this season for the league to bring back the Finals symbols on the courts, which NBA insider Brett Siegel showed how the Spurs and Knicks’ courts will look for this championship round.

What lies ahead for Knicks and Spurs in NBA Finals

It’s a major step in the right direction for the NBA, giving the 2026 Finals a great chance to be memorable. With the Knicks and the Spurs facing each other in the championship round for the first time since 1999, this series is bound to go down as an entertaining one.

New York finished with a 53-29 record this year, taking the third seed in the East bracket. They are on fire with 11 consecutive wins, beating the Atlanta Hawks in six games before sweeping the Philadelphia 76ers and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

On the other hand, San Antonio excelled with a 62-20 record, securing the second seed in the West bracket. They took down the Portland Trail Blazers in five games, Minnesota Timberwolves in six games, and the Thunder in seven games.

Game 1 of the 2026 Finals will take place in San Antonio on June 3 at 8:30 p.m. ET. After that, Game 2 commences on June 5 at 8:30 p.m. ET, while New York hosts Games 3 and 4 on June 8 and 10 at 8:30 p.m. ET.
