Commanders QB hilariously picks fan’s fantasy football draft order
Sam Hartman may not get a roster spot on the Washington Commanders, but the 27-year-old quarterback just gave a group of friends a fun memory they will have forever. Young fans who were attending training camp in Ashburn, Virginia requested that he choose their fantasy football league draft order by reading a list of names at random. Hartman accepted without hesitation.
The former Wake Forest star and Notre Dame standout mispronounced a name and accidentally skipped over another, but given the circumstances, he handled the pressure quite well. This man is a crowd-pleaser.

Hartman signed with the Commanders after going undrafted in 2024, and although he has been waived multiple times, he always manages to find his way back on the practice squad. People just seem to crave his presence. Fans fawn over his physical appearance, which does not currently feature his famous beard, and franchise QB Jayden Daniels even called him majestic. But Hartman’s popularity might not be enough to save him.
Wake Forest’s all-time leader in passing yards and passing touchdowns is already behind Daniels and Marcus Mariota on the depth chart, and now he is in danger of losing his job to rookie seventh-round draft pick Athan Kaliakmanis. The next few weeks will be pivotal, to say the least.
Sam Hartman may have to look for a new home by the end of the summer, but until that day comes, he will do his best to put a smile on fans’ faces. What will the people ask of him next?
