Chelsea hit by Estevao injury blow as Liam Rosenior reveals extent of hamstring issue
Chelsea head coach Liam Rosenior has confirmed the reason behind Estevao’s absence from their game against Burnley.
The Brazilian sits out the visit of the Clarets due to a hamstring complaint, though the Blues boss has allayed fears the teenage winger has suffered a serious injury.

“Unfortunately yesterday in the training session, he felt awareness in his hamstring,” Rosenior said on Saturday ahead of one of Saturday’s 3pm kick-offs.
“At the moment we are scanning it to make sure it’s nothing too serious but he’s unavailable for today’s game and we will see from there.”
Without Estevao, the Chelsea boss opted for Pedro Neto and Cole Palmer on the left and right flank, respectively, with Enzo Fernandez starting in the number 10 role against Burnley.
Este-WOW
Estevao has proven a revelation for the Blues following his arrival from Palmeiras over the summer.
A deal to take the 18-year-old to Stamford Bridge was confirmed in 2024, though he was unable to move to west London until after his 18th birthday.
And Estevao has made an impressive start to life in England having scored twice and laid on two assists across 19 league appearances.
Estevao only recently returned to Chelsea action having missed the recent 3-2 home win over West Ham due to personal reasons.
“Unfortunately Este for personal reasons has had to go home. My thoughts are with him and his family at the moment. We wish him well,” Rosenior said ahead of the London Derby.
The Blues found themselves 2-0 down against the Hammers last month as Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville both struck in the first half.
Head coach Rosenior made a triple-sub at half time and turned the game on its head as Joao Pedro, Marc Cucurella and Fernandez all struck after the break to confirm all the spoils.

Chelsea are looking to extend their Premier League unbeaten run to six games as they seek a return to winning ways following their 2-2 draw with Leeds last week.
‘Such a strong league’
And Rosenior warned his players to remain focussed for their game against Burnley after watching Arsenal draw 2-2 with Wolves in the week.
The Gunners threw away a two-goal lead at Molineux as they dropped points in the title race.

“I don’t think it’s just complacency,” Rosenior said.
“After Wolves were outstanding yesterday, I watched the game. This is such a strong league now. Every team can beat everyone.
“That’s why the league is so close in terms of points between so many teams. What we have to do is we have to focus on our own performance.
“We have to make sure that we prepare ourselves right. But the way I like to do it is to be consistent in our process, whether we’re playing Wolves, whether we’re playing Burnley tomorrow, whether we’re playing Manchester City or Arsenal.
“Our process is the same. It has to be that way for you to be consistent in your performance.”
