Champions League Round of 16 draw LIVE: Date, UK time, how to follow and who Premier League sides will face following play-offs

The Champions League Round of 16 draw will be confirmed this week following conclusion of the knockout round play-offs.

Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur all automatically qualified for the knockout stages in Europe’s top competition.

It meant only Newcastle were left to face a play-off match.

And Eddie Howe‘s side have joined their top-flight rivals in the next round having smashed Azerbaijan side Qarabag 9-3 on aggregate in their knockout round play-off.

Atletico Madrid, Bayer Leverkusen, Bodo/Glimt, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Borussia Dortmund and Galatasaray are also through.

Madrid beat Benfica, PSG overcame French rivals Monaco, Galatasaray fought past Juventus and Atalanta knocked out Borussia Dortmund.

As for those who finished in the top eight of this season’s League Phase, they already knew who they could face in the last 16 next month.

Arsenal will be coming up against either Atalanta or Leverkusen.

Chelsea could face PSG in a rematch of the Club World Cup final, or Newcastle for an all-Premier League clash.

For Liverpool, they’ll meet Atletico or Galatasaray and that is the same potential opponents as Spurs.

And finally, City will end up facing Madrid or Bodo/Glimt in the last 16.

When is the draw for the last 16?

Now the play-offs are complete, the winning teams will progress through to the last 16 and another draw will take place.

On February 27, the Champions League round of 16 ties, quarter-finals and semi-finals will all be determined.

The draw will get underway at 11am and is taking place at the House of European Football in Nyon, Switzerland.

The last 16 fixtures are then scheduled to be played across March 10-11 and March 17-18.
