Celtics’ Jaylen Brown shows respect for LeBron James after wild PTSD question

While they are not exactly considered rivals, Jaylen Brown and LeBron James have had their fair share of battles. It is natural for fans to pit them against each other because of the storied history of the Boston Celtics and the Los Angeles Lakers.

Brown is already out of the playoffs after they were beaten by the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round. James, meanwhile, is trying to carry the Lakers past the Oklahoma City Thunder in the second round. They were routed in Game 1.

The 29-year-old Brown has a surplus of time following their exit, and as expected, he has spent it on his livestream on Twitch, where he often discusses varied topics.

In the latest episode, content creator Tylil asked Brown about “getting PTSD” whenever he hears James’ name.

“After all the pain he’s caused your city, your team?” asked Tylil.

“I love LeBron,” replied Brown.

He and James have publicly expressed mutual admiration over the past few years. In February, the four-time MVP lauded Brown’s performance, saying the former California standout was “taking that next step.” James also addressed Brown’s harsh take on Bronny James.

In last year’s Summer League, Brown was caught saying the younger James was not cut out for the NBA. It quickly went viral, although the father-and-son duo did not make a big deal out of it.

Brown and James had the chance to be teammates on Team USA for the 2024 Paris Olympics, but Brown was infamously snubbed despite leading the Celtics to the title and winning as Finals MVP.

Regardless of the past, the respect between Brown and James has always been strong.
