Cardinals’ Jordan Walker already surpasses 2025 home run total with 432-foot moon shot
St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Jordan Walker has been on a tear to begin his 2026 campaign. That hot streak continued into Sunday’s matchup against the Boston Red Sox.
With his team trailing 1-0, Walker smashed a 432-foot home run over the left center field wall. It marked his seventh of the season, which leads all of baseball.

Alongside leading MLB, Walker has now surpassed his home run mark from the 2025 season. He played 111 games during that 2025 campaign, showing how quickly the outfielder has turned things around in 2026. Entering Sunday’s contest, he was hitting .314 with six home runs, 13 RBIs and a stolen bases. Walker has already been able to add onto that, and the Cardinals hope he isn’t finished.
While it’s still early in the year, the former top prospect has looked like a completely different player in 2026. He showed promise as a rookie, hitting .276 with 16 home runs, 51 RBIs and 74 RBIs over his first 117 major league games. But then Walker fell off a cliff, batting .201 with five home runs, 20 RBIs and a stolen bases a year later. The Cardinals ultimately demoted him.
While the Cardinals are in the midst of a rebuild, they still want to determine which core players they will be building around. Heading into 2026, Walker was in a precarious spot, as he was carried more by his prospect pedigree than actual results.
So far though, the outfielder has been able to change the narrative. Whether or not his whole season is resurgent is yet to be seen. But Walker is turning head across the MLB world with his scorching start.
