Shedeur Sanders’ brother Shilo suspicious of conspiracy after Browns’ preseason game, ‘That’s rigged’

Shedeur Sanders’ start against the Buffalo Bills in preseason may turn out to be his last start of 2026.

This comes after the news that Deshaun Watson was named the starting quarterback of the Cleveland Browns for the upcoming NFL season.

Nonetheless, it was a fairly impressive showing by the young signal caller, albeit in a 31-7 defeat, with Sanders completing 9-of-11 passing for 74 yards and a touchdown before Watson entered the field to boos from the home crowd.

The game, however, was interrupted by heavy rain which has led Sanders’ older brother Shilo to believe in some form of conspiracy related to the weather.

“I’m proud brother over here,” Shilo said on a livestream when a fan asked his thoughts on the Browns’ outing against the Bills.

“…Shedeur is almost perfect. I need fire emojis for that. That rain was crazy. The rain delay was crazy.

“I feel that stuff is rigged, though, because last year, whenever I had my preseason game versus the Bills, I think we got a rain delay, too. That’s what was telling me.

“Rain delay was crazy. Rain delay two years in a row was crazy.”

Shilo’s outing against the Bills in the 2025 preseason when suiting up for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is ultimately what cost him his opportunity to make an NFL roster.

This was because in that game, he lost composure when frustrated, and threw a punch at former Bills tight end Zach Davidson, which saw him ejected from the game – and subsequently cut from the team.

He never made another NFL roster.

Shilo preparing for trial as Shedeur still hoping to win QB battle down the line

The elder Sanders’ strange comments come whilst he is in the middle of a bankruptcy trial.

The 26-year-old somehow got himself into $11 million worth of debt stemming back to an incident from a decade ago where he was accused of assaulting a high school security guard.

His father, NFL icon and Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, who is currently the coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, was recently subpoenaed, which could have an impact on his team’s preparations for the upcoming college football season.

This is because the trial appears to coincide with the week of the Buffs’ first game.

Whilst all that is going on off the field, Shedeur is not giving up hope of taking the QB1 role off of his teammate Watson.

The news of the $230 million veteran being named the starter stunned many around the NFL as the announcement was made just mere days after Watson had blasted the Dawg Pound fans in a scathing press conference and calling them ‘disrespectful’.

This even led to ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky calling for Browns fans to boycott home games for the upcoming season in protest.

With the Browns’ first two games of the regular season on the road, there is still some hope yet that Sanders could take up his place as the team’s starting quarterback by Week 3, but only time will tell on whether head coach Todd Monken will opt for a switch.
