Brewers’ Jackson Chourio, Andrew Vaughn activated from injured list

The Milwaukee Brewers are looking to win their fourth-straight NL Central title, but they have been faced with a little bit of adversity so far this season. The division has been very competitive top-to-bottom, and Milwaukee has been dealing with some injuries to key players.

Now, reinforcements are coming. Outfielder Jackson Chourio and first baseman Andrew Vaughn have both been activated from the 10-day injured list, the team announced on social media.

The Brewers are currently 18-15, which is a solid record but only good for fourth-best in the NL Central at the moment. However, they are just 3.5 games back of the division-leading Chicago Cubs, so a run into first place now that they are getting healthier is not out of the question.

Chourio has not yet made his 2026 debut after suffering a fractured hand from a hit-by-pitch in the leadup to the World Baseball Classic. He suffered a minor setback during his rehab stint when he fouled a ball off of his ankle, but now it looks like he is nearing a return.

The 22-year old has quickly become one of the best young outfielders in baseball over his two seasons in Milwaukee. During that time, Chourio is hitting .272 in 279 games with 42 home runs and 157 RBI. Getting him back in the lineup will add both power and speed in the Milwaukee order.

Vaughn has also been dealing with a fractured hand that he suffered on Opening Day. He is in his first season with the Brewers after being traded over from the Chicago White Sox at the 2025 deadline. Vaughn got his Brewers tenure off to a stellar start during the back half of the 2025 season, hitting nine home runs and driving in 46 runs in 64 games for the Brew Crew.

Milwaukee is getting a three-game set with the St. Louis Cardinals underway on Monday night. As the Brewers try to chase down the Cardinals and others in the division race, they are hoping to have both Chourio and Vaughn back in the lineup very soon.
