Brewers’ Christian Yelich out with injury vs. Padres after returning from IL
The Milwaukee Brewers’ outfield was finally healthy on Tuesday after the club activated Christian Yelich from the IL. However, just a day later, coming back from the injury, the franchise ruled him out for Wednesday’s contest against the San Diego Padres due to a back injury.
Manager Pat Murphy claimed that he is taking every precaution when it comes to the 34-year-old slugger and will not play Yelich with a sore back, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. Murphy stated that Yelich’s back was acting up after playing as the designated hitter in the Brewers’ 6-4 win over the Padres on Tuesday.
“His back was a little sore,” said Murphy about Yelich. “He wants to play [today], but I’m not going to get into this, especially when it deals with his back, because he’s had this [problem before]. Just going to let it calm down, and not going to listen to him on this one. I’m going to take every precaution I can.”
This story is currently developing, and more information will be published soon.
