Australian Open Men’s Final 2026 LIVE: Date, UK time, schedule and how to follow conclusion to first Grand Slam of the year

The Australian Open Men’s Final is the stunning climax to the first Grand Slam of 2026 with Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz still looking to maintain their dominance.

The last eight Grand Slam men’s titles have gone to either the Italian or the Spaniard.

Sinner is the defending champion after beating Alexander Zverev

It is not since late 2023 that someone else has won a Grand Slam on the men’s side.

On that occasion, it was Novak Djokovic who claimed victory.

The Australian Open has proved to be the one Grand Slam that has evaded Alcaraz so far but he’s into the latter stages this year again.

Sinner and Djokovic are also going well as we approach the concluding event of the Australian Open.

Australian Open Men’s Final: What has been said?

After comfortably seeing off Fritz, Musetti has his eyes firmly set on beating Djokovic.

He said: “Novak, we’ve played many, many times and every time it’s a lesson.

“He didn’t have to play today, so I’m pretty sure he won’t be tired. Hopefully the rhythm I have right now with the great match today will bring me luck for the next one.

“I feel ready to try to push him to the maximum.”

Meanwhile, Martina Navratilova believes for De Minaur to beat Alcaraz, the Spaniard must be off his game.

She said: “Alcaraz has such amazing offence and fantastic defence, but he chooses to play offence, but he can play defence as well. Hard to find openings and then he comes up with the bigger shot.

“He hits the colour off the ball and then he hits another 10mph harder on the full run!

“The strength the guy produces on a full stretch is amazing. I mean, Alex has a shot at it but Carlos has to be off his game.”
