Aston Villa vs Young Boys predictions
Following their awful start to the season, Aston Villa are now one of the most in-form teams in Europe.
Unai Emery’s team have bounced back brilliantly from a poor start that saw them win none of their first six matches in any competition, to winning nine of their next 11.
The Lions’ impressive form sees them sitting fourth in the Premier League on 21 points from 12 matches and sixth in the Europa League table with nine points from four played.
A much rotated Villa team lost 2-1 away to Go Ahead Eagles on Matchday 3 of the Europa League, and the Claret and Blue also lost 2-0 away at Liverpool in the Premier League. They are the only matches Villa haven’t won in their impressive 11 match run.
Villa’s most recent outing saw them overcome Leeds United in the Premier League last Sunday. The Lions found themselves 1-0 down at the halfway stage, but Unai Emery adapted at half-time, and Villa stormed back to win 2-1, thanks to a brace from Morgan Rogers.
In their previous Europa League match, goals from Ian Maatsen and Donyell Malen were enough to see off Maccabi Tel Aviv in a 2-0 win at Villa Park.
Young Boys sit second in the Swiss Super League with 25 points from 14 matches. In the Europa League they are 22nd with six points.
The Swiss are going well domestically having just recorded back-to-back 4-1 and 5-0 wins over title rivals St. Gallen and bottom-of-the-table Winterthur, respectively.
In Europe they have been a mixed bag. A crushing 4-1 home defeat to Panathinaikos was followed by a 2-0 away win at FCSB and a 3-2 home win over Ludogorets. However, all that good work was undone when Razvan Lucescu’s team were thrashed 4-0 away at PAOK on Matchday 4.
The result means Young Boys have now conceded ten goals in the competition and leaves them with the worst defensive record in the 36-team group.

Aston Villa vs Young Boys betting tips
The two sides met in the group stage of the Champions League last season. Unai Emery’s team came out comfortable 3-0 winners in Bern on that occasion. Young Boys have also never won away against an English team, losing four and drawing two. Our match tips follow:
Europa League’s weakest defence faces big test
Aston Villa are in great form at the moment. They know another win will consolidate their position in the top eight of the Europa League and improve their chances of automatic qualification for the Round of 16.
Villa have scored six times in their last two appearances at Fortress Villa Park. They are also hosting the team with the worst defence in the Europa League, with Young Boys conceding ten in their four matches.
We can see a comfortable home win. Throw in over 2.5 match goals to make the odds more backable.
Bet on Aston Villa to win and over 2.5 goals in the match at 1/2 with Tote
Rotation likely to favour in-form Malen
Donyell Malen has played a limited role in Aston Villa’s Europa League campaign to date, starting just two matches and finding the net once.
One of his two appearances in the starting eleven was in Villa’s 2-0 win over Maccabi Tel Aviv three weeks ago, where Malan found the net in his only full European 90 minutes so far this season.
The former PSV and Dortmund forward looked lively when he came off the bench at half-time against Leeds last weekend, immediately assisting Morgan Rogers for Villa’s equaliser.
If Unai Emery rotates as expected, Malen is likely to get a run out from the start in place of Ollie Watkins.
In his current form, he is worth backing. Especially at this price, given the wager is odds-on elsewhere.

Young Boys capable of finding the net
We know how well Aston Villa have been performing lately. Further underlining their impressive form of late, Villa have scored in 12 of their last 13 in all competitions. Only Liverpool at Anfield have shut Villa out, and a lot of that was down to their own poor finishing.
Young Boys also know where the back of the net is. The Swiss outfit have scored in 16 of their 22 competitive fixtures in all competitions this season. They have also scored 11 goals in their previous two Swiss Super League outings.
With Villa likely to rotate, we feel this improves the visitors chances of getting on the scoresheet. It goes without saying that Villa should score.
