The Golden State Warriors gave Dalen Terry a shot at making the roster after signing him to a one-year, non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 training camp contract in August. However, with the 2026-27 campaign around the corner, it appears the club is waiving him, but it's not all bad news for Terry.
Reports indicate that, although the Warriors are waiving the 24-year-old guard, the franchise is sending Terry to the Santa Cruz Warriors to further his development in the G League, according to insider Brett Siegel. It's said the organization likes Terry's skill set and wants to keep him around to help with his development.
“The Warriors are planning on waiving Dalen Terry before Monday and having him join the Santa Cruz Warriors, sources told ClutchPoints,” Siegel reported. “Terry is a player the Warriors like and will continue developing in the G League. Tonight is the team's final preseason game against POR.”
Terry is a former first-round pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Chicago Bulls. He was traded around to multiple teams before the deadline last season, before ultimately being released, becoming a free agent, and signing with the Philadelphia 76ers for 14 games.

He'll have a chance to improve his game at the G League level, at least to begin this season. For now, there does not appear to be a path for him to join the Warriors roster. But things can certainly change as the 2026-27 campaign progresses.
