Coach Mike Macdonald's Seattle Seahawks rank near the middle of the NFL pack with just over 332 total yards per game headed into Week 6 after an ugly Sam Darnold outing raised questions about a benching. Blame was handed out after the Week 6's loss at Denver which included two Darnold interceptions and a team-high 52 rushing yards from Emanuel Wilson.

ESPN's Field Yates blasted the Seahawks after it was shared that Darnold has had three multi-interception games so far this season after throwing just three interceptions all of last year.

“They tried to come out more aggressively (against Denver)…The offensive line is a problem, and Sam is no question the biggest problem. Seven interceptions in four games, it's getting inexcusable for a guy who was integral to their Super Bowl win last year.”

Yates called for more balance on offense after they tied Atlanta for most rushing attempts in 2025-26 but have gotten away from their bread-and-butter this season.

“It's hard not to come back to the decision that the Seahawks made, which, this is an excellent front office, this is a Super Bowl champion, but they let Kenneth Walker walk away…They expected more of their first-round pick Jadarian Price before he got hurt, but right now they are a chemically imbalanced offense and that's not gonna work with Sam playing the way he is.”

The Seahawks are expected to get running back Zach Charbonnet back soon, possibly in time for a matchup with Walker III and the Chiefs. The running game still holds a world of promise, but it's going to take a team effort to get it moving in the right direction again with more big tests on the horizon.
