Back in February 2024, a bizarre incident took place pregame before the Phoenix Suns and Detroit Pistons were set to square off against each other when then Pistons big man Isaiah Stewart reportedly punched then Suns big man Drew Eubanks in the bowels of the arena. Stewart was ultimately suspended for three games by the NBA over the punch.

Well on Sunday, video of the incident between Isaiah Stewart and Drew Eubanks surfaced on social media. The clip shows Stewart approaching Eubanks, brief words are exchanged and then Stewart throws a punch. He then gets into a fighting stance, and as Eubanks attempts to walk away, Stewart then shoves him and both players get ready to square off until team security or arena staff immediately step in and separate them.

Throughout Stewart’s career, he’s developed a reputation as a physical defender who is not afraid to mix it up and get into someone’s face. He had spent his whole career with the Pistons to this point, but he was traded this offseason to the Memphis Grizzlies.

This past year, he appeared in 58 games, including 13 starts, at a little over 22 minutes per game. He averaged 10.0 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.1 assist and 1.6 blocked shots with splits of 55 percent shooting from the field, 33.3 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 75.6 percent shooting from the free-throw line.

Eubanks has bounced around the NBA for the past couple of seasons, and he’s now trying to earn a roster spot with the defending champion New York Knicks during training camp. He spent last season with the Sacramento Kings where he appeared in 42 games, including 11 starts, at a little over 13 minutes per game.

He averaged 5.2 points and 3.0 rebounds with splits of 59.6 percent shooting from the field, 14.3 percent shooting from the 3-point line and 56.1 percent shooting from the free-throw line.
