The Kansas City Chiefs took care of business on Sunday. Kansas City faced an easy matchup against Miami and cruised to a 24-10 victory in Week 3. The game included a few important plays from one Chiefs player who is proving that he is not washed despite his old age.
Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce keeps proving that he can still play ball throughout the 2026 season. Kelce made another big play in Week 3, snatching a nine-yard touchdown pass late in the fourth quarter.
The veteran tight end also hauled in a 48-yard reception in the first half. He finished the game with two receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown after getting just two targets.
There was some concern about Kelce before the start of the 2026 season. But Kelce is silencing his critics and seemingly turning back the clock closer to his prime years this fall. Kelce has 14 receptions for 231 receiving yards and two touchdowns through three games. That puts him on pace for well over 1,000 receiving yards, something he hasn't accomplished since the 2022 season.
It's important to remember that Kelce has unfinished business to accomplish during the 2026 season. Kelce tied Rob Gronkowski for games with 100+ receiving yards and a touchdown back in Week 2. Another electric performance will put him in the records books, helping his argument for being the most prolific tight end of all time.
The dynasty may be back on in Kansas City as the team improves to 3-0 on the season. They certainly look like an AFC superpower, especially with teams like LA and Denver not looking as threatening in the AFC West.
It will be exciting to see if Kelce can continue playing at a high level this year.
