Postgame press conference 101: when your team just suffered its third double-digit conference loss in the last four weeks and is plummeting toward irrelevance, it is probably best to not target critics. Apparently, Mike Elko missed that lesson. The Texas A&M football head coach is drawing even more negative attention to the program following his latest remarks, which were directed at TexAgs.com executive editor and co-owner Billy Liucci and his media outlet.

“There's a difference to me between the fan base and social media,” Elko said after Saturday's 27-6 road loss versus Missouri, per On3's Carter Karels. “So there's one group that I really don't care much about. Billy's cesspool (at TexAgs) can go be Billy's cesspool. Our fan base, stay with us, be behind us. We're going to build something that we told you we were going to build. So we're in a really bad spot right now, but we'll work our way out of it.”

No amount of accountability would have eradicated the bad optics tornado that is sweeping up the Aggies right now, but the former ACC Coach of the Year certainly did not need to make matters worse.
