The Golden State Warriors are just over a week away from kicking off their 2026-27 regular season. The Warriors are entering this season without many high expectations after Draymond Green showed up to training camp overweight and Kristaps Porzingis continues to deal with a strange illness.
At the center of it all is Stephen Curry, who recently reiterated his commitment to the franchise with a new contract extension, and has now given his take on the team's moves, or lack thereof, over the last few years.
“I mean, I’m not an idiot. I know what it means in the sense of that window we had where coming off of ‘22, there were opportunities to get better, add new talent, and some worked out, some didn’t. And the jury is still out on how we end this entire journey with a competitive mindset,” Curry said to NBC Sports Bay Area, via Valentina Martinez of the California Post.
The Warriors only made one major move since their 2022 championship, trading for Jimmy Butler, who is currently rehabbing a torn ACL.
Other than that, Golden State hasn't gone big game hunting often in order to give Curry a legitimate co-star in the twilight years of his career.
“I’ve had a really amazing career and journey. I want to win. All the other chatter doesn’t necessarily matter to me in terms of how I grade our seasons,” said Curry.

Golden State is slated to kick off its season on October 21 with a road game vs the Los Angeles Lakers.
